Creating Your Own Private Label Rights Package

November 15, 2007 · Filed Under Uncategorized

We went over the power of PLR packages in my last post. Today we are going to walk through the steps of creating your own PLR package from scratch.

Here are the five steps of putting together a PLR package:

1) Think of an idea for the package. For most people, this is the most difficult of all the steps. Most people just have a heck of a time thinking up ideas. One of the easiest ways to do this is to grab a pen and paper and write down your interests. Research each one online and see which ones have a demand on the internet. You can see this by going to Wordtracker and doing a search for the keywords related to your ideas. You’ll then see how many monthly searches there are. Then of course you want to go to the search engines to see what competition you have. In the case of PLR, I don’t tend to worry much about the competition part because I will simply rely on good advertising to get the word of my PLR out.

2) Okay, now you have come up with your idea. Let’s just say you decided to write an ebook series about making money online. You figure there will be about 4 or 5 books in the series. Each one will contain a few methods of making money online and internet marketing. Each book will be maybe 20 to 30 pages long. You decide that a good price point for all the books would be $27.

3) Write your content and put the books together. Then you will also create a sales page for the books in this step. This is the longest and most time consuming of all the steps but it’s also the most important. You can’t put together and sell a PLR package without writing the content and sales letter.

4) After you have the whole product put together for sale, you then work on what I call the actual “PLR” part of the process. You have to sit down and write out each individual right that you are going to include with this package. The reason for that is because if you don’t specify things, people are going to do whatever they want with the package.

So in addition to the actual content books, you will need to put together a book that I call my “How to Sell This Package” book. In it, you’ll give some tips for how to promote the package, including setting up the sales page, advertising and so on. You’ll also include the actual rights that they have with the package.

For the purpose of this example, we’re going to give people these rights.

[NO] Can be given away.
[YES] Can be packaged.
[NO] Can be offered as a bonus.
[YES] Can Be Edited Completely and Your Name Put on it.
[YES] Can be broken down into articles.
[YES] Can be added to paid membership sites
[NO] Can be offered through auction sites.
[YES] Can sell Resale Rights.
[YES] Can sell Master Resale Rights.
[NO] Can sell Private Label Rights.

You must stipulate in your package the rights a person has after buying your Private Label Rights package. If you don’t do this you will lose all control of it and people will do anything and everything with the package.

5) After you have done all of the above steps, the only thing left to do is get your site up online and start promoting it.

It will probably take about a month to put together a good solid PLR package following these steps. If you put a good package together and sell a limited number of rights to a certain amount of people, you should be able sell each package for a fairly high price.

Let’s say in this example, I’ve decided that I’m only going to sell 50 of this PLR package for $197 each. That comes out to a profit of almost $10,000. Even if you sold the package for $97 each, that’s still a nice chunk of change. If you put just one of these packages together per month, this is a yearly income of anywhere from about $60,000 to $120,000.

Like I said, Private Label Rights are extremely powerful and can make you a lot of money. If you’re willing to work very hard to put a PLR package together you can do very well with it. Keep creating them and you will find yourself rolling in the money!
